Maria
WHO: Maria is a small, pale-skinned, dark-haired vampire from Mexico. Her burgundy eyes should clue you in that she’s NOT of the "vegetarian" type either. Her voice is soft and musical, but also tends to be sharp. Although she’s a more mature and able vampire that can control her thirst, she preys on humans for their blood.
THE BEGINNINGS OF JASPER’S VAMPIRE LIFE: While Maria was in Texas looking for recruits into her newborn army, she found Jasper, who was a major in the Confederate Army at the time. She turned him into a vampire, which hugely benefited her because of his special ability to control emotions and because of his fighting skills. As the leader and trainer of her newborn army, Jasper helped her win several battles and helped take over territory previously ruled by other vampires.
UNMERCIFUL MARIA: Despite her small stature, Maria’s ruthless ways would make anyone a little fearful, Jasper included. Her intolerance for the weak and anyone who tries to resist her makes her one ruthless vampire. Even her two sisters, Nettie and Lucy, didn’t escape punishment for rebelling against her. Jasper stayed with her for years and years but eventually became depressed because she had asked him to "purge" the newborns that were of no use to her. Maria thought of killing him when she noticed this, but he left before she could do anything.
