Jessica Stanley
WHO: Jessica Stanley is probably the chattiest girl in Forks, WA, and is described as having curly, dark brown hair and blue eyes. On Bella’s first day at Forks High School, Jessica noticed that Bella received a lot of attention from other guys, so she pretty much glued herself to Bella in hopes that some of the attention would be shared with her.
BELLA’S "HISTORY" TEACHER: When Bella caught a glimpse of the Cullen family in the school cafeteria. her curiosity was piqued. So she turned to Jessica to ask who they were, and out spewed Jessica’s version of the Cullen Family History, complete with remarks about how creepy it is that the couples (Alice and Jasper and Rosalie and Emmett) live under the same roof. It didn’t go without notice that Edward Cullen wasn’t paired up, and it turns out that Jessica had quite the fascination with Edward including some inappropriate fantasies about him.
THE GREEN EYED MONSTER: Jessica was already envious of Edward’s interest in Bella, so it didn’t help matters that Jessica’s new crush, Mike Newton, gave Bella much of his attention too. Once Mike realized that Bella wasn’t interested, he asked Jessica out at Bella’s urging. Jessica was delighted for the chance, but unfortunately their lil’ relationship was short-lived. However, the two of them were seen holding hands at Bella’s wedding so there may be hope for them yet.
FRIENDS FOREVER? Jessica and Bella were friends, yes, but Jessica initially befriended Bella because of her popularity as the new girl. So, how strong is that bond really? Perhaps not that strong. Their relationship didn’t really pass the friendship test during Bella’s downward spiral into depression. Still, Jessica reluctantly agreed to movie night with her, which was ruined by Bella’s Edward hallucinations, leaving Jessica to think Bella was even more of a freak than usual. Eventually though, Jessica got over it and even attended Bella’s wedding.
