Jasper Hale
WHO: As part of the Cullen clan, Jasper Hale is “brother” to Rosalie Hale, and partner to Alice Cullen. He has a lean and muscular build, and his wavy golden blond hair frames his smooth, angular face. Typical of the vampires in Twilight, his skin is sparkly-in-the sun and pale-when-not, and his golden eyes darken as his thirst grows.
HUMAN TO VAMPIRE SKILLS: Prior to becoming a vampire, Jasper was a major in the Confederate Army. When he was turned by a vampire named Maria, he used his military skills to help her create a newborn army that overtook southern Texas. Eventually he grew tired of the violence and wandered away to become a nomad.
LOVE IS A MANY SPLENDID THING: Luckily for him, Alice “saw” him coming, and waited patiently for him to wander his way over to her. The day they met they immediately clicked as partners. Completely safe and comfortable with each other, Jasper’s and Alice’s relationship with each other is truly unconditional. They’d do anything to protect each other.
LOST IN EMOTION: Not all vampires have special abilities like Edward and Alice, but you can definitely count Jasper in this select group. He can manipulate other people’s feelings around him to feel relaxed or happy. While it’s a subtle power, it comes quite handy any time there’s tension in the room. And since we’re talking about Bella and Edward’s story in the Twilight saga, you can bet there are tons of ups and downs in this tale.
BLOODLUST: Having recently stopped feeding on human blood, Jasper is considered to be the newest “vegetarian” vampire among the Cullen family. He tries very hard to restrain himself from killing any humans, especially Bella, since the smell of her blood is so strong and nice. Because he knows how important Bella is to Edward, he tries to keep his distance from her. The key word here is “tries”, if you catch my drift. What does that mean, you say?
